Are Potions real?

I get daily emails from viewers asking about potions.  They want to know if such magick is real and if so how it works and of course how they can get started.  Now I know we all love Prof Snap. I was not even a fan of the movies but I still love Alan Rickman’s performance.  I may be biased though I adored him as an actor. What I think is fair to say we all love and know the image of beakers heating and bubbling on a table or a large cauldron of brew simering.  The power of the brew is a perfect science of arcane art just waiting to be cooked up.

Well some of that is true making potions is indeed a lot like cooking and I personally consider it very much part of Kitchen Magick.  Though the perfection of the elements combined to have any hope of it working, lucky that part is not true.  So in response to these questions and emails I decided to do a video talking about real potions and how to make them and use them in your personal practice. If you would like to view it you can find it on my YouTube Channel here.

Basic Mead Part 3 Bottling

In this video, we go over how to bottle a basic mead. As many of our viewers will know we have been doing a series on how to make a simple and basic first-time mead. Though with the holidays it has taken us longer then we wanted to get to the Bottling process. Well, we finally did and it tastes great. Due to lighting, some footage was unusable but we were still able to do a video talking about how to bottle your mead. We also give a few options on bottles to use so you don’t have to buy a few brewing and bottling set up if you are just trying one batch to see if you might enjoy the hobby.

Episode 10 CULTURAL VIEWS ON MAGICK AND THE LAWS OF MAGICK

In this episode of The Magickal Coffee Hour, we try to cover a very hard topic of cultural appropriation and cultural respect. This is a topic that is very near and dear to my heart for many reasons. One that I feel could benefit from more calm and respect discourse. I know a lot of people may not like this topic so if we take nothing else away from this topic. I hope in my heart of hearts we can all at least take this. Every day let us try and learn more about each other where we come from and honor and respect the people and the culture to the best of our ability.

How To Make A Multi-Berry Mead Part 1

I got a lot of interest and feedback on my making a basic mead video. So when my wife asked me to start a new batch of my multi-berry mead I decided to film that and share that recipe as well since I know a lot of people love fruit meads. Honestly, this method is very similar to making a basic mead. I actually do not add the fruit too much closer to the end to get more fruit flavor as that is how I and my wife prefer it. With luck, it will all make sense as this mead making series comes along. Below you will find a list of items you will need to get started.

15 pounds of honey of your choice I like clover for this mead (for this batch I decided to try the honey from Walmart here is hoping it comes out ok.)

Lalvin 71-B is the yeast I am using

This recipe is for a full 5-gallon batch

As always check your local homebrewing laws and happy brewing.

How to Make Wassail

With Yule on the way, I thought I would share a recipe that we love in my family for wassail. You might be wondering just what is wassail. Wassail is a strong alcoholic punch like drink that is commonly made with ale and apples. It was once a very common and important part of the Yule season. The holiday carol ‘A Wassailing We Come’ is in fact about this drink. In the past friends and neighbors would go wassailing what we might call caroling today. if you lessen to the modern carol you can hear the tradition of them going around singing in exchange for an offering of strong drink(wassail) and some coins for their purse. Honestly, I might have enjoyed caroling more if they were handing out alcohol lol. The idea was to bring good health and joy to all those you shared the wassail with. So enjoy the video below to learn more and make a batch of wassail for you and your family and be in good health and cheer. From our family to yours have a wonderful holiday and a very blessed Yule.
