Basic Mead Part 3 Bottling

In this video, we go over how to bottle a basic mead. As many of our viewers will know we have been doing a series on how to make a simple and basic first-time mead. Though with the holidays it has taken us longer then we wanted to get to the Bottling process. Well, we finally did and it tastes great. Due to lighting, some footage was unusable but we were still able to do a video talking about how to bottle your mead. We also give a few options on bottles to use so you don’t have to buy a few brewing and bottling set up if you are just trying one batch to see if you might enjoy the hobby.

How To Make A Multi-Berry Mead Part 1

I got a lot of interest and feedback on my making a basic mead video. So when my wife asked me to start a new batch of my multi-berry mead I decided to film that and share that recipe as well since I know a lot of people love fruit meads. Honestly, this method is very similar to making a basic mead. I actually do not add the fruit too much closer to the end to get more fruit flavor as that is how I and my wife prefer it. With luck, it will all make sense as this mead making series comes along. Below you will find a list of items you will need to get started.

15 pounds of honey of your choice I like clover for this mead (for this batch I decided to try the honey from Walmart here is hoping it comes out ok.)

Lalvin 71-B is the yeast I am using

This recipe is for a full 5-gallon batch

As always check your local homebrewing laws and happy brewing.
